This week we focus on: Volunteer Needed

The Saskatchewan Housing Corporation (SHC) is looking for a Volunteer to seat on the local Preeceville Board.   If you are interested in being appointed or would like more information please contact me. Mayor Garth Harris
“The Minister establishes local housing authorities and appoints the volunteer board members who oversee operations of the housing authority”
"Since 1973, Saskatchewan Housing Corporation (SHC) has built a strong organization to achieve its main objective:  To improve the quality or housing and related amenities for Saskatchewan residents and enable clients to achieve or maintain independence by improving access to other programs and services.
The majority of SHC’s programs receive funding for its operation from the General Revenue Fund of the Province of Saskatchewan, the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), and municipalities"
"There are more than 250 housing authorities in southern Saskatchewan that manage social housing within their community. Each housing authority is independently managed and has a volunteer board of directors and a manager. The manager is responsible for day-to-day administration of the assigned housing projects. Close contact with communities is achieved through local management and representation on housing authority boards"
