In order to contribute to the achievement of the Town’s strategic
plan, all employees require the following skills and personal attributes:
Communication: Ability to share information with and receive
information from others in an open, direct and respectful manner ensuring
messages are clearly understood.
Customer Service: Ability to identify, meet and exceed the needs
and wants of internal and/or external customers
Diversity: Ability to work comfortably and effectively in a
diverse workplace
Leadership: Ability to take personal responsibility for one’s
actions and decisions and to follow through on commitments
Teamwork/Independence: Ability to work independently and/or
co-operatively with others in order to achieve common goals and build positive
relationships
Wellness: Ability to recognize symptoms of stress in self and take
steps to minimize its impact to ensure good health and wellbeing.
Excellence: Gives attention to details, accuracy and customer
service to the highest standards. Maintains expected work levels without
sacrificing quality. Organizes tasks effectively to meet deadlines and
commitments. Prioritizes tasks in coordination with team and Town's objectives.
Obtains the necessary tools, knowledge and assistance to perform at high level.
Takes advantage of opportunities to increase own job knowledge and technical
skills.
Innovation: Thinks ‘outside the box’ to create approaches that
increase effectiveness to processes and procedures; seeks and considers others’
ideas and suggestions with an open mind. Supports and adapts to changes within
own team and the Town. Sets high performance standards and monitors own
performance to find ways to improve. Proactively takes action to solve
potential problems by creating effective solutions.
Integrity: Follows through on all commitments made by self or the
Town to others. Takes ownership for actions and mistakes. Communicates and
behaves openly and honestly at all times. Maintains confidentiality and the
highest ethical standards. Consistently abides by our policies and procedures.
Lives the Town's Mission through application of the values in daily work
activities.
Partnership: Willingly works with others to accomplish tasks and
balance workload. Develops and maintains positive relationships with other
stakeholders (employees, customers, professional and community volunteers,
visitors and citizens). Values the contributions of others and demonstrates

up-to-date with progress and developments.
Respect: Consistently is courteous, and manifests sensitivity and
empathy to other stakeholder’s (employees, customers, professional and
community volunteers, visitors and citizens) needs. Openly listens to and
ensures a clear understanding of other's needs. Facilitates and/or participates
