This week we focus on: National Volunteer Week runs April 12th to 18th
Volunteers are the heart and soul of our community. They give of their time freely expecting nothing in return but a sense of pride in knowing that they have helped make our community the great place it is to live in. This volunteering does not just happen; it takes Vision, Energy and Talent. It requires skill and will. “Volunteers do not come free.” You need to have leadership in your volunteers, managerial skills and knowledge to be successfully. People are busy with all the great things we have to do in today's world. People have less time and our voluntary organizations are feeling it. There are also more and more causes to give to and invest in each year. Grants from our governments take time to write and seen harder to win for our communities or organizations. So as you can see volunteering is not a marginal activity, it is what we think of when we say “Quality of life “. Your Town Councils invests in infrastructure and is the foundation that assures our volunteers are effective in providing all of our services, programs and projects. The other investment must be made in our volunteers themselves because they are the ones who can stimulate our “Quality of life “just as much as the town’s investments in the bricks that make that foundation. And that is very small investment for that “Quality of life “we have all come to love in small town Saskatchewan. - April 17 - 18th - Preeceville's Annual Spring Expo Doors open on Friday at 11 am runs till 9pm and Saturday open from 10am till 4 pm Check out out that's new at the Skating Arena.
Over 50 vendors with displays. Free admission. Children's events. More info next week.
- April 18th - Meghan Nash presented by the WhiteaHawk Arts Council at 7:30 at the Sturgis Community Hall. Tickets available at Country Lane Florists.
- April 26th - Studio Dance One Dance Recital - "We Will Rock You!'. Starts at 2:00 pm, Sturgis Composite High School. Admission $5.00, Preschool - Free
- May 1st, 2nd and 3rd - United Church players present "The Murder Mystery at the Murder Mystery", Friday, May 1 at Stenen Hall, Saturday, May 2 at Sturgis Composite High School, Sunday, May 3 at Preeceville Community Legion Hall. Showtime is 7:30 pm. Tickets available from all cast members, Country Lane in Preeceville, Lil's in Sturgis, Ruth Zubko in Stenen.
- May 20th - "Snakes of Saskatchewan" presented by Ray Poulin, Wednesday, May 20, 7:00 pm at Club 60. Everyone welcome. Check out Snakes of Saskatchewan by Ray Poulin

| Will be held Saturday May 30th, 2015. Anyone interested in having a garage sale the same day as others in the Town of Preeceville can call the Town Office at 306-547-2810 and register their garage sale and be placed on the event map. 8:00 am - Pancake Breakfast - Preeceville Volunteer Fire Dept. 11:00 am - Hot Dogs & Pie at Preeceville Club 60 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Hamburger BBQ at Centennial Park - sponsored by the Preeceville Air Cadets And there is room for other groups to hold something that day, again call our town office for information. | ||||
