Town Foreman Development Plan/Profile
Oversees the works department responsible for the scheduling and supervising assigned staff.
Acts as an assistant to the Town Administrator, responsible for the scheduling of staff, work flow in the town, resolving related issues and supervising assigned staff.
Must successfully complete an independent physical assessment.
Must meet the job requirements for hearing, vision, strength and flexibility.
Require fine motor movements to operate radio frequency equipment.
Will work in close proximity to heavy moving equipment and are exposed to exhaust fumes, dusty/dirty/noisy conditions and extreme temperature fluctuations.
Will be exposed to and/or handle hazardous materials such as broken glass, batteries, chemical fumes.
Must be able to push, pull, lift and carry weights up to 34 kg (75 lbs.).

Knowledge Requirements:
All employees are expected to have a basic understanding of all Town policies and procedures, which are critical to the effective operation of the town. Must have a basic knowledge, understanding and where to find of the following:
- Operations Manual
- Organizational Flow Chart
- Job Description
- Policy and Procedures Manual
- All other policies issued on an ongoing basis
- Must have a basic knowledge of all. Able to look up information as needed from manuals.
- Must complete and are encouraged to complete other knowledge courses available.
Town Operations:
All employees are expected to be able to maintain town facilities and grounds in a clean and safe operating condition and operate town equipment. All employee must understand the occupational health and safety manual.
- Must follow cleaning and maintenance schedules.
- Must be able to operate, safely, all equipment in the town that applies to position.
- Must be able to find related legislation information that applies to the town workplace
Customer Service:
The employee is expected to adhere to the customer service and relations policy.
- Must initiate contact with customers, and assist them with problems that may arise.
- Must deal with customer complaints as instructed by the town foreman or administrator.
- Must demonstrate a genuine and positive attitude toward all customers.
Personal Presentation:
The employee must present a positive manner that depicts a high standard of ability, confidence, initiative and deportment. The employee must adhere to the clothing guidelines found in the policy manual.
- Must be a self-starter and work with minimum supervision on a consistent basis.
- Must wear approved clothing; keep it clean and in good repair.
- Must be well groomed, neat and clean.
- Must respect town policies, procedures and decisions.
- Must display proper telephone answering technique and etiquette.
