1) Chairpersons Report:
The School Community
Council is an integral, purposeful and valued component of School Division
governance.
Our Council
responsibilities address key matters that make a difference in student
learning and well-being.
We are accountable,
transparent and responsive in our relationships with parents and the school
community.
|
Purpose - SCCs work with parents
and community members to:
A) Develop shared
responsibility for the learning success and well-being of all children and
youth; and,
B) Encourage and facilitate parent,
community and youth engagement in school planning and improvement processes. "The
best way to enhance the learning outcomes of children and youth in schools is to help parents
support the school by productively engaging
their children in learning at
home."
”The
Ministry provides leadership and direction to the early learning and child
care, Kindergarten through Grade 12 education, literacy, and library sectors. The Ministry supports the sectors through
funding, governance, and accountability, with a focus on improving student
achievement.”
