This week we focus on: Old Home Week
"Old Home Week is a practice that originated in the New England region of the United States, similar to a holiday or festival. In its beginning, in the 19th - 20th century, it involved a municipal effort to invite former residents of a village, town, or city - usually individuals who grew up in the municipality as children and moved elsewhere in adulthood - to visit the Old Home, the parental household and home town"
"Our idea is to have events around one week each summer so our former residents and guests can be as busy as they please while checking out what's new in town" Monday July 6, 2015 11:30 am - 1:30 pm Hamburger BBQ and Pop at Centennial Park - Preeceville Nursery School 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm Art Show & Lunch, Trinity United Church, Preeceville Art Group 3:00 pm Art Show Special Presenter, Dr. Norman Yakel 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm Art Show & Lunch, Trinity United Church - Preeceville Art Group Tuesday, July 7, 2015 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Perogie and Sausage Lunch, Preeceville Personal Care Home Wednesday July 8, 2015 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Outdoor Clay Oven Bread with Chili and Jam- Preeceville & District Heritage Museum 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm Ice Cream Cone Sale at Centennial Park, Crossroads Credit Union Thursday July 9, 2015 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm Pie and Coffee, horseshoe at Club 60 Friday July 10, 2015 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm "Taste of Home" homemade treats and refreshment booth, Centennial Park - Preeceville Catholic Women's League Phantom judges will be lurking to view appealing yards from the road.
