This week we focus on:  Kelsey Ecological Society

The Kelsey Ecological Society is named for Henry Kelsey, He was the first European to see the Canadian Prairies. Until the 1926 discovery of the Kelsey papers in an Irish castle the location of Kelsey’s route was only conjecture. The papers provide historians the opportunity to re-write history and to assert that Henry Kelsey was here. The Kelsey Ecological Society was formed by a group of nature enthusiasts in April 1997, as a Chapter of Nature Saskatchewan. Their primary purposes are to bring together those who are interested in the Natural World, and to promote Education, Observation, and Sharing of Nature’s Phenomena in our area. The Kelsey Ecological Society sponsors guest speakers and field tours throughout the year, and meets on the third Wednesday of each month (except December and January) at 7:00 PM. - Kelsey Ecological Society presents "Snowdrift River" slide show presented by Kathleen and Michael Pitt on Sunday, March 22, 2:00 pm at Club 60. Community Wide Garage Sale

Will be held Saturday May 30th, 2015. Anyone interested in having a garage sale the same day as others in the Town of Preeceville can call the Town Office at 306-547-2810 and register their garage sale and be placed on the event map. 8:00 am - Pancake Breakfast - Preeceville Volunteer Fire Dept. 11:00 am - Hot Dogs & Pie at Preeceville Club 60 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Hamburger BBQ at Centennial Park - sponsored by the Preeceville Air Cadets And there is room for other groups to hold something that day, again call our town office for information.
